5 QUESTIONS WITH KAMBYLLE

I am an artist who aspires to learn as many art forms as possible. I spend most of my time working with watercolor and ink pens, focusing on the beauty in darkness. I have never been drawn to creating visual representations of happiness; from a young age, I have always preferred the darkness of sad, haunting, or horror pieces.

As I have grown older, my style has evolved to represent difficult topics in a beautifully tragic way. I like to capture attention with the softness and beauty of watercolor, and then draw people into the deeper story underneath. In a way, I disguise challenging themes within the beauty of art, trapping individuals in a piece so they can't look away from a story they won't forget.

1. What question do you wish people asked more often?

I wish people would ask the "why" of things. I am always interested in the why and how of people—how they became who they are, how they found their lifelong relationships and hobbies, and what called to them or didn't. I wish people were generally more curious about the why behind everything.

2. What’s your most unpopular (but very correct) opinion?

Any animals soul is more important than most humans, they should be valued more than they are…..

3. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever overheard in public?

I honestly cannot recall. I tend to be in my own world when I am out in public and do not pay much attention to the words of those around me. Ironically, I am great at quoting movies, shows, and music lyrics, but in public, I focus on my own thoughts and do not worry about the opinions of strangers.

4. Which fictional character would make the best neighbor?

It is a draw between Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice. Either choice would be absolutely fabulous!

5. What keeps you curious?

Knowing that there are so many different ways to do, think, and approach things always keeps me curious about life, people, art, and their experiences.
